As a child, Meghan Marentette loved collecting odds and ends to build miniature worlds for her toys. As an adult, she turned her love of craft into a career in the film industry, eventually becoming costume designer for stop-motion animation puppets on the CBC/CBeebies children’s series, “Lunar Jim”. It was during this job that she was reminded of her childhood passion for tiny worlds, and began writing her first novel about a family of mice called The Stowaways, which was a finalist for the Canadian Library Association’s Book of the Year for Children Award, the Monica Hughes Award for Science Fiction and Fantasy, and the Ann Connor Brimer Award. Meghan lives in Nova Scotia, Canada, where she continues to write and craft miniature worlds, with the publication of her first photo-illustrated picture book, Rumie Goes Rafting.
